Elementary Cellular Automaton

Elementary cellular automata are a type of simple yet powerful computational model utilized in the fields of computer theory and complexity science. They were popularized by mathematician Stephen Wolfram in the 1980s. These automata are particularly renowned for their ability to generate complex behaviors from extremely simple rules. An elementary cellular automaton operates on a one-dimensional grid of cells, each of which can be in one of two possible states: "on" (1) or "off" (0). At each discrete time step, the state of each cell is updated according to a specific rule that specifies how the states of neighboring cells influence the new state of the cell in question. While this system is widely known and has been explored in various ways by the generative art community, my approach was to develop my own version. On this occasion, it is represented artistically by blending two of its rules randomly with a small probability of inverting said rule. Color palettes have been carefully selected to ensure a strong contrast between the possible states of each cell
